It's my impression that UMD is not very selective. I had around a 3.0 GPA in high school (but took a pretty rigorous load), and had a 28 ACT. I did not get admitted to the Swenson Science school right away, however, I got my second choice of the College of Liberal Arts. If you have around a 3.0 or higher, and at least a 22 ACT score, you shouldn't have to worry about getting into UMD.
