Extracurricular, particularly leadership rolls. A good SAT score.

I got in because of my grades and because my grandfather came to VMI. I'd say that having a family connection deffinately helped. However, if you have a 3.5 in high school you can easily get in just make sure you are in good physical condition when you come to VMI.

Do pushups, run, make sure you can handle being yelled at. Have a good high school education.

I had really good grades in high school andJul 07 2010Business - Management and Administration
I had really good grades in high school and had a lot of extra curricular activities. Take AP courses if available and do well in them. Make sure you have a leadership role in a sport or organization...anything is better than nothing. I ended senior year with a 4.2/4.0 GPA and did not do very well on the SAT, so it's not the end-all. Generally, if you do poorly on the SAT, you'll do better on the ACT, so be sure to take it.

Just applied like everyone elseJan 12 2006Civil Engineering
Just applied like everyone else. Got little help from anyone. This place is expensive, so try to get an ROTC scholership.
