Date: Jun 10 2002 Major: History/Histories (art history/etc.) (This Major's Salary over time) Think twice about going here if you want a high-paying, professional job after school and expect your college network to provide it for you. Even the superstars of my class struggled mightily - especially the women. (The atmosphere was open, and my professors were great, but Hillsdale is very conservative, and women were pretty much expected to be there looking for husbands - which is fine if that's for you. but it's not everyon'es plan for college) Anyway, Hillsdale has a lot of name recognition in conservative political circles, but that's pretty much a minus, if anything, in the job market. as a whole. I spent a lot of time explaining my ties there while switching jobs. Every liberal arts major in our class went on to make, oh, $20,000 a year in secretarial-type positions. Sure, that's the real world, but why pay these kind of prices for a school that doesn't position you for a successful career - or even something that will allow you to pay off your student loans and eat at the same time?
