Date: Dec 09 2002 Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time) My particular case is not as unique as it was maybe 20 years ago. I WENT BACK to school after having been out "in the field" for almost 25 years. I recieved a degree from MSU in 2001 that said I was now educated to do what I had already done successfully for the prior 15 years. The campus of Mississippi State University in Meridian recognized my special needs (mature student with full time employment) and did everything to help me achieve my goal of "finishing" what I had started out to do over 25 years ago, in another state and virtually in another life. Had I been aware of the tremendous opportunities at Mississippi State University - Meridian Campus, I would have probably returned much sooner than I did. The only area where the University displayed a mild weakness was in its hesitancy to continue supporting it's lesser (enrollment-wise) departments. The lack of decisive leadership (at the time) contributed to the eventual demise of some of those departments and forced more than a few people to wonder if this University's reason for existance was to, indeed, educate or simply to make a profit. Hopefully, with the changing of said leadership, these issues will not appear again.
