Holy shit, this place is truly horrible. Listen carefully. This schools function is to educate the spawn of Montana, a sparsely populated state of ex-southerners who happen to be anti-gregarious, anti-intellectual, and super-conservative to the point of being frightening. You will mostly bump into the offspring of ranchers, farmers, or other modern-day cowboy and cowgirl types who seem to have absolutely nothing on their mind but their horses, alcohol, their trucks, their chewin tobacco, etc. Use your imagination to conjure up an image of a barely coherent redneck wonderland and you will see what MSU looks like. Diversity is non-existent here, and I don’t just mean in the student body. I am also referring to the variety of academic opinion or lack there of. Profs are detached, just happy to have gotten tenure in a resort town. To top all of this, a hefty amount of my classes have been taught by people who have only attained a masters degree and there not TA’s. Come to this place if you want to ski and you have been a poor student most of your life. If you care about your educational experience, your future, your sanity, don’t. All I have to say is, thank god for all of the students that come here from California. They really help the school seem a little more human, almost like a place of higher learning. Na…There’s not enough of them.
responseThis is the least educated opinion I have ever seen. Montana State is a great University, and every opinion of the student body and faculty is just ignorant and simply retarded. This person is obviously some disgruntled Californian who seeks to ruin the kind, helpful, and peaceful environment of Montana, and to replace it with a festival of asshole jackoff Californians who can't stand for another person to have to have a personality that is slightly different from theirs. I'm surprised you disliked the faculty, seeing as how your personality and ethics match how you describe them. This reviewer is a snob, and only wishes to look down on different people. Californians are ruining Montana. I hardly describe snobbish assholes who have heart attacks any time they're not around their own people, who then are complete douchebags to people they clearly don't understand, or have no education about as "human." Go back to your home if unintelligence, I'll enjoy my beautiful town, smart people who celebrate their own culture, and the niceness and politeness of my state.
responseTo the first comment: Damn, people hate us Californians that much? You must be getting the Bro's up there. I dont really know if you're aware, but, you basically just described yourself it seems. Steriotypes = no bueno
