The on-campus living at Champlain is not as good as they advertise. The dorm buildings are old mansion-style houses, but they are very old and many are in great need of maintenance. (Quite often, I can not even get a steady, hot shower!) Furthermore, the cafeteria is terrible. The quality of the food is very low and a handful of the employees are very rude. The hours of the cafeteria are very limited, which does not surprise me because they already have my money for every meal of the year. And finally, we are not given free cable with our room and board. This may sound kind of trivial, but it is basically expected that colleges offer "free" cable to its students. After a long day of school and work, nothing feels better than to vedge in front of the TV before hitting the sack. Unfortunately, it costs my roommates and I $45 bucks a month to have this "privilege".
