CalPoly is a mixed bag… most famous for it’s engineering programs. Classes can be tough. Don’t be surprised if you get D’s and C’s for the first time in your life (outside of engineering it’s not too bad). Think about this is you’re making plans to attend grad school because a low undergrad GPA doesn’t look so hot.

Being on the central coast of California it’s surrounded by beautiful beaches and serene rolling hills… However you’ll find most students don’t get out and explorer too much. Most people are packed away in the library with their ti-92’s and bumming homework assignments off their friends. The women aren’t too bad either but a notch below the beauties you’ll find down at UCSB.

Also, people are always complaining about the lack of diversity on campus… HA! What a joke because secretly that’s why most of the students decide to come here. I would describe the average student as being a frustrated white male engineering student form a middle class conservative background. If you’re a left wing liberal you’ll find yourself clashing with the general vibe around campus.

Being a small town there definitely some good parties around the start of the quarter, after that everyone gets pretty serious.
