College is intended to be a time of exploring ideas under the guidance of professors who can challenge you and among peers who can enrich you.

If you are 18 years old and have studied enough to know that the only acceptable belief system is rural church of christ and mediocre professors are more than adequate then I strongly encourage you to attend Harding. Your experiences there will be completely consistent with your foundational beliefs and you will be able to avoid anyone who doesn't agree with you.

However, if you are 18 and think you still have a good bit to learn and you want to enrich your life and your mind by exploring new ideas, you would be crazy to go to this place. Almost all of the professors either lack a doctorate or have never produced research or teaching of a level that warrants state-wide recognition even in Arkansas. For example, the dean of the business school is the 37 year old son of the university president. He worked for two years with a large accounting firm, got his MBA at Harding which is not accredited and ten years later HE's the DEAN without a PhD. How pathetic.

Alumni speak favorably of this place because they either were mediocre students and felt challenged at Harding or they drank a big pitcher of church of christ kool-aid. Either way, thinking people with intellectual curiosity should strongly avoid this place.

responseI don't know about the MBA program at the time of Burks' graduation, but the MBA program IS accredited now.
commentAs an alumnus, I agree the announcement of certain titles and facuity was underserving. I met Brian and thought hum to be a deserving graduate and professional. I had some greta Professors in the School of Business study, Mr. Perkins being one of them. How would you feel getting intenist $ for 8 years to help report a team's findings? I wanted Marleah too, face it you didn't get her.
commentWow, way to go. And you wonder why you have a hard time with contentment at your workplace and salary? Let's go to a mixer and make some paper planes. Maybe that will git you into an Ivy school!
