Christendom Collge is a very small Roman Catholic College in Front Royal, Virginia. The total number of students for this college has already been established that it will not grow to more that 400 (or so) students. Take this into consideration when choosing your college anywhere. It's just enough for you to know who everyone is, but not really "know" them. At CC this is the case - it seems like people who don't even know you, know your business, who you're dating, whether you go drinking on weekends, and the like.

The computer lab - as of this spring, it was in the upstairs of the Regina Coeli building on the 3rd floor. The ceiling is very low, and the internet is programed to shut off at midnight. So if you have some research to do for a last minute paper - guess what - can't do it. There is no internet access in the rooms either. Take this into consideration when you are lugging your laptop up 3 flights of stairs.

Social Life - Weekends at school kinda suck. During the summer there is more to do, but in the winter you're left out to freeze. You have to have all movies approved by an RA, or otherwise, if you watch it anyways, and caught, pay a fine. R rated movies in your room will be confiscated. Then there is contra dancing. I'm not going to explain, but they have it regularly on campus. Just look it up on the net. The other "wonderful" actvity is drinking. Many underage students participate, which usually takes place down at the Dam on weekends. Oh, and plenty "of age" people to go and buy illegally for you. Some morons even do it during the winter. Whatever.

The city (as they call it)of Front Royal is a redneck town 30something miles from West Virgina. No Target or Walmart here. We do it white trash style - KMART! Whooo Hooo! The movie theater in town (yea right)has 3 or 4 screens. Last showing most nights is around 10 pm. Hey, gotta be back for midnight curfew, right?

Prof's and helping you - Some profs at CC are UBERhelpful. They will schedule study times for you and are there for you. One of the Philosophy Dept. profs even takes written questions and answers them the next day in a handout for the entire class. Yet the other freshman prof does not. I had the other one. Many times I set up sessions, but as a thesis advisor, he would have students banging on his door. As a disgardable freshman, my time was quickly done away with. I was told to come back another time while the senior was given priority treatment.

Ah - and the wonderful dresscode. Girls, listen up. You have to wear a skirt to Mass on Sundays. Yea, pants are too masculine! Sorry!

Hopefully this new Library will pick things up and bit and the food will get better. The freshman 15 (or 25 for some) totally happens at this school. The choices aren't too hot. It's either, the right line, or the left line. Be ready for pizza with stuff on it that is unidentifyable. One look at Chef Ron, (who probably weighs around 400lbs give or take 50lbs) and then think, gosh, if he looks like that, and cooks this drivel, then what the hell am I eating.

So how's that food for thought?

commentSometimes we got the best of the topics from the college sites but have the great for considerations by the approved to unknowns. That was really friendly and appreciably for the australian writings au to approachable from the establishing of the participant access.
