Date: Aug 28 2005 Major: Language - French/Spanish/etc. (This Major's Salary over time) My college experience at WMU was very helpful. My participation in student activities and student life in the residence halls was probably more helpful than my classroom experience. I worked in the Residence Halls as a Resident Advisor and as an Assistant Director of the International hall. (Hoejke Hall-I wonder if it still exists) That experience was extremely beneficial as few people had an international background with such exposure to ethnic diversity as I had at that time. My first job out of school required a Master's Degree and I received the position with a Bachelor's Degree because of my great training in Residential life. I also studied in Spain through WMU's partner program, and the Spanish department head was very helpful and insightful. My involvement in Campus Crusade for Christ was also very important as I participated in their international summer missions trips which became an added experience which was looked upon favorably by employers. Since my time at WMU I have traveled internationally with my husband for both business and pleasure trips and am grateful for the international exposure I gained at WMU in the residence halls.
