Date: Dec 31 1969 Major: Other (This Major's Salary over time) Entered in 1994. The academic faculty was generally very good. They were prepared, friendly, helpful, knowledgable, and practical. I found the flight department, however, rather unsatisfactory for my learning taste. Switched to "Aerospace Studies" and trained outside of ERAU. I flight instructed in the Los Angeles area for one year. Then was hired by a regional in 1999. In 2003, I was hired by Southwest airlines. Currently, I am a First Officer in the Boeing 737.My advice to Aeronautical Science students: get your degree at ERAU but fly elsewhere. Since I have left, I have heard that the flight department has relied heavily on Simulators. I disagree with the use of flight simulators in basic (civilian) aircraft flight.
