Winona State is a great University and highly recommend if you would like the experience of a medium/small town mentality. Once you visit Winona, you will fall in love with the atmosphere. Although there are 8000+ students, you get the feeling that its easy to get to know many of them. Social life is what college is all about, and make sure you make the best of it. Winona is a wonderful small town, but has a lot to offer if you do it right. Its been 6 years since I've graduated and in hindsight, the one thing I would recommend to incoming freshman is do not take yourself so seriously. When its all said-and-done, the one thing you'll take with you is the experience. College class experience gets thrown out the window in the "real world" and work experience is given much more weight. Winona State University will help you get that extra step head start above everyone else. Because of the tightknit relationships you have the professors and the class, and community, you will feel the confidence grow inside of yourself.
