If you want to stay in high school, go to Pepperdine. This isn't necessarily positive or negative(for me, negative). Student body is small, arrogant, and most guys wear skin tight jeans and act like women. People talk smack and dont expect to be punched in the mouth. Almost all upperclassmen live off campus and drive Beamers and fork over insane rent money in Malibu or LA. Many people go home to do Laundry on the weekends, and to hang out with their high school friends or girlfriends/boyfriends. Campus is undeniably beautiful, but after about two weeks people stop playing volleyball and going to the beach(btw, beach is actually 20 minutes away), and the view is taken for granted. I felt like I was on an island. NOOO where to go if you don't have a car. You cant walk anywhere. Malibu is limited, closes down at 10, and extremely expensive(20 bucks for cover at local club), so if your from the Midwest like me, prepare to be shocked by the prices. Traveling every weekend to UCLA or USC or UC-SB to party is extremely annoying(again, like high school). Just to get some decently priced, non-fastfood burgers requires a 30 minute drive. If your not rich you will have problems, because campus life is built around spending money. Amazingly expensive school because of the location. Most teachers are brilliant, and many have written the text books being used for the class. However; too much busy work, and the teachers treat you like your in high school. The dry campus is horrible, and absolutely NO parties happen on campus. I cant stress this enough, because I heard it before I came, but I didnt really believe it. You cant even play music after 10 pm. Find someone who has a car, fast, or else you will be sitting in your dorm on friday night. Pepperdine does alot of things to appease overbearing parents. No girls are allowed in guys dorms after 1 AM, and an RA will write you up. Religious influence is quite annoying, especially having to go to church 14 times a semester as part of your grade. Also, too many religion classes, as you may expect. Understand what it's like here before you come, or else you will be transferring after your first semester like me. You also may really like it.
