Lindenwood is a great university, and I love it here. You are going to find good and bad at any university you look at. Yes, I have had problems dealing with the business office at Lindenwood, but I also know that if you come prepared with your financial agreements in hand, you have a much better chance at getting what you want. Be thankful enough that Lindenwood is a debt free university that can offer generous scholarships in the first place. If you prepare yourself well when dealing with faculty you appear as an adult and will be treated as one. There are visitation restrictions here, and no I don't like them, but I also understand that the university is trying to keep its students safe. It's just one of those things you have to accept and move on. There are constant activities on campus. Granted, there aren't raving parties every night, but the events here can be fun if you're open to them. If you're so determined to party it up, there are several places near campus where you can party to your hearts content. Some of the dorms and buildings are old, so it's not uncommon to find some problems with them, but what do you expect from a historical university? There are new dorms as well as old ones, so if you don't want to live in one of these buildings you don't have to. Yes, Lindenwood is a dry campus, but that is common knowledge…address how important that is to you BEFORE you enroll. Lindenwood is not a party school, its focus is on academics. Security on campus is very concerned with the safety of the students. Yes, you will hear horror stories of students being in dangerous situations. However, many of these cases were brought on by making unwise decisions. Is it safe for a young girl to be walking alone in the dark on campus at night? NO. Those are the cases that end badly. Students are equipped with a phone number to reach security at any time, and should they choose to use it, can be escorted anywhere on campus if the student feels unsafe. There are limitations and restrictions that come with on and off campus housing, but those regulations are made avaiblable to the public in the handbook on the Lindenwood website. ( It is frustrating to hear so many people complain about these rules when they were so plainly laid out for everyone to see beforehand. No matter where you choose to go to college, just do your research first. Lindenwood is a beautiful, historical university. It is a private university with small class sizes, so you're an individual student, not just a number. Like I said there are good points and bad points to any University, but doing research and finding the right fit for you is solely your responsibility. If you come here and don't like it, you have no one to blame but yourself.
questionHey.. i got an acceptance of business administration from Lindenwood, and im an international student, and i will attend this coming fall on August 2012… im really afraid of making this decision, WHY? well, because of all those comments that people made about the uni.. most of these complaints were about things that not related or important for students education.. for instance, the campus, dorm, parking, announcement and so on. so, my question needs an honest answer, do you advise me to not attend this school? since i don't care about the campus, or dorm and so forth.
