Having had the opportunity to graduate from a high school where learning mattered, individuals had dignity, and people had commonsense, the transition to Johnson State has been a disappointment.

I'll let you know Im being honest here. I am writing this review to deter students from going to this school because I care about their well being, even though I do not know them. It seems this school is not taking all the measures it can to ensure a safe and productive learning environment. I thought that a school would try to make a good learning environment. This school does not enforce any laws which has led to its horrible social state. The following is a terse list of this schools negative qualities.

I estimate 2/3 of the student population do drugs- acid, shrooms, marijuana, pharmaceuticals, alcohol A-Z.

No rules are enforced by public safety.

we had 18 trashcan fires in one month

A Transvestite, or are there more?

Kids smoking bongs and hookahs in front of the dorms at night

Several dorms are haunted

A few teachers are too old and senile to teach

95% of students get accepted

RA's dont do anything about reeking Marijuana

In some classes quizzes consist of online multiple choice, with an open text book, Dont we go to school to learn?

Oh and lots of Marijuana and MJ usage

Little competition

I dont know why some students are here, and how some are here

Weekends its ghost town-lots of kids ski and board

If you dont ski or board, do drugs, you'll be a minority here. You'll be with the 1/3 of the school.

Now the positives,

Yes there are good teachers here.

The buildings are nice, clean and taken care of

There are good programs

Nice library

Nice weight room and gym

There is good work-study opportunities

Nice theatre, art facility

Dorms are ok, get dirty if you are stuck with bums and dirty hippies

You can live in a dorm devoted to the 1/3 that does not do drugs, so you dont have to put up with unnecessary bull shit.

In conclusion, this school has good teachers and facilities, but work load is laid back and seems adjusted so all the bums that go here can pass the classes. I was in a Math class, got an A, class average was C. Go Figure- half the class failed and half didnt, and it was Algebra 2 stuff.
When it all boils down a good school is made up of just two things. A good school has to have good teachers. Nice buildings are great but they dont make the school. The other thing that makes the school is the people, the people beyond the professors, and the president. The students that go to the school make the school. They create its heart. 2/3 of this schools heart is toward drugs, sex, rock and roll, and marijuana. 1/3 of this schools heart is toward getting a better education and ensuring their future for their future family. Where the two groups are separated is a cold void.
