Academics; Johnston state college is a very interesting place to say the least. I am a Hospitality Major and I would say mostly ever teacher in the business hospitality program is very qualified and exceeds or meets my expectation of what college classes should be like.

Every other program is well uhh as respectively put as possible a fucking joke. I Cant believe how unprofessional some of the people that are in charge at this school.

If you have a problem, public safety will do everything in their power to be as least helpful as humanly possible

Campus life: Johnson State college is nestled in one of the most beautiful areas in Vermont, it is an absolutely rich place environmentally and comes with a spectacular view of White face mntn. You are located 15 minutes from smugglers notch #1 resort in vt this year, and 30 from stowe, and it has great rivers for fishing.

I'll tell you right now if you do not ski or snowboard I would stay as far away from this place as possible. There is nothing to do if your not getting out to the mountain. The most exciting part of my experience at Johnson is making first tracks every morning in fresh powder every morning before class, and there is no class on friday, which gives you an extra day to go to the mountain.

Weekends here suck because alot of students go home or to burlington(which is and awesome place) the only thing to do is get really drunk or high on some of vermonts finest. If you are under 21 have fun going through the bullshit of drinking tickets if you are attending off campus parties, Because the cops up here are ruthless glorified game wardens who have nothing to do but find you with a beer in your hand. You are safe on campus doing this type of thing because for the most part the RA's are clueless. If you are the laid back type of kid that enjoys the outdoor environment, I would personally recommend this school to especially to you. If you are thinking about going to any of the NH mountain schools like Pstate or Keene state, I wouldn't, just because the NH ski resorts suck big time compared to smuggs and stowe, and for the most part the people suck, and are not nearly half as chill as a vermonter.

To sum it up everything I just said. If you are deciding to come here I would definitely stay here for 3/4 years and recommend taking a year vacation legally on the National student exchange which allows you to go to any area of the country, pay jsc's tuition and your inviting campuses room and board.

If you like to just chill out meet friendly people, and ski or ride, this is definitely a place for you because its Just Sorta College, or Johnson Snowboarding Commune JSC
