I was a transfer student to UCSD. I really didn't like it at first yes. I was one of those people giving UCSD bad reviews. However, its fortunate that I wasn't a bio, science, or med student here. There is a clear divide on the types of students you can see here on campus. If you look hard enough you may be able to find a small, YES VERY SMALL, group of student that are about the same as you. But you would really have to go above and beyond and find departments, clubs, extra-curric activites that you like. And in doing so, Im pretty sure youll find the types of people youre most like.

As I said, i believe that since most of the students here at bio and science majors. You do get alot of that dull, drab college atmosphere. However, if you get invovled in enriching programs like the cross cultural center, SAAC orgs, SPACES, the womens center, the LGBT resource center, the art centers, you are able to get more of that diverse atmosphere i was craving. but thats if youre into that.

The campus is okay, but the only problem is that its located in the most privileged and BORING place in san diego. LA JOLLA. Alot of people figured out that there is more to diversity and city life living outside of La Jolla, for instance, living more downsouth, is better, its closer to downtown, and other smaller places that make san diego a place worth living in.

Other than that, I guess youd have to GROW to love UCSD. Its not a place where people, opportunities, and excitement will just COME TO YOU. You honestly have to go out there and find it. But when you do, im pretty sure youll learn to love UCSD because if you look hard enough, you will find the right people, places, and spaces fit for you.

commentAre you kidding me. La jolla is the dull spot of san diego. You got some of the best beaches in southern california. I can tell just from this comment your not from sd county
