My advice is if you want to know what a college is like go there. That's the best way to figure out if a school is right for you. Not all colleges offer all of the same classes or degrees. Many of the teachers here at Mason also teach at Nova. so, yes in some ways Nova and Mason are similar. Those teachers teach the Nova classes exactly how they teach at Mason.

All these responses on sites like this are biased. For every college, even the ivy league schools, there are those who'll hate it and those who'll like it.

It doesn't matter where you get your Bachelors from,it's more important on where you get your masters. Also you have to look at what a college is known for. If that happens to be what you want to major in then that's the college for you.

Here's a side not some jobs would more than likely hire someone from William and Mary, Va Tech, or UVA. I know a lot of people who got hired just because they went to those colleges.

responseI disagree that "many" of Mason's faculty also teach at NOVA, but I would say that some do, and there is nothing wrong with that. The curriculum, however, is not the same. I seriously doubt that a Mason professor would use the same syllabus from NOVA.
