I would certainly caution you before choosing this University! I transferred into ODU and I noticed a lot of things! EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE is very close minded and NOT OPEN TO MEETING NEW PEOPLE AT ALL! Please, please, please make sure that you are well informed about what the hell goes on the campus, because NO ONE WILL SAY ANYTHING about what the hell goes on this campus! For example, for the football tickets they do not tell you when they go on sale, you just have to be up and attentive to when they actually do go on sale at the Ted Constant Convocation Center box office on Hampton Boulevard since no one tells you anything. Secondly, I can't tell you how frustrated I am with the Office of Housing and Residence Life! It's just frustrating, let me say that! This is because they take forever to let you know that you have housing and put you on a wait list, and then when they finally notify you that you do not have housing, they take forever to send you a refund check for the $250 that they told you on their website that they would do! So, I just got stuck in "The District" apartments where I had to sign a lease for 1 year and pay $850 dollars a month. These apartments are very nice by the way in that they are very large and they have a lot of space inside of them with full kitchens and 2, 3 and 4 bedroom arrangements. Overall, ODU is very strange, segregated meaning there are MANY cliques and groups and it?s kind of like the 13th grade sort of speak. I would say that you should make a wise decision about this school before officially choosing where you want to attend college!
