CSU is a great way to improve upon industry knowledge. CSU provided me with the core concepts and fundamentals in Health, Safety and Environmental management. It prepared me for the Certification as a Safety Professional through the Board Of Certified Safety Professionals. The curriculum is legitimate and requires you to put forth the effort to learn. The degree is legitimate and yes employers do recognize the degree. All a degree is to the employer is a certificate stating you are able to learn and that you have self discipline to work to obtain a goal. You get what you put into the program. I have attended brick and mortar schools and I found that it was more advantageous to have to read and study on my own than to sit and listen to some professor fumble through the class and who had no real work experiences. Most of the Professors I had were Certified Safety Professionals and had experience in the work place and provided real life experiences. GREAT SCHOOL and I learned a lot. As far as accreditation is concerned I was able to transfer my degree to a regionally accredited university with no problems. If you are a professional looking to improve and still be able to maintain a full time job then CSU is the way to go. As far as study time is concerned I averaged about an hour a night per course. (Usually two courses per term). I am happy with the school and I am a top earner 100K + per year. Before my degree I earned around 70K per year.
