My overall experience with Radford University has been a positive one.

  • relatively small class sizes [my largest class had about 90 students, average was about 35, smallest was 18 (that was as a freshman!)]
  • big enough to meet new people every day, small enough to bump into friends and other familiar faces regularly
  • the dorm rooms are much larger than the ones I've seen at other colleges
  • All dorms are either suite style(share a bathroom with the people next door) or have private bathrooms
  • students are very friendly and outgoing
  • the city of Radford is a safe area
  • if partying is your scene, you can almost always find several parties to choose from; if partying is not your scene, there are still many other ways to have fun
  • You can walk from one end of campus to the other in less than 10 minutes, a major plus for when it's extremely cold or rainy out (as well as waking up for classes)
  • lots of great restaurants within walking distance, even more (plus shopping) withing driving distance
  • Cons

  • not as many dining options on the weekends
  • the school lacks ethnic diversity; however, this is not really too big of a problem since people here are accepting of others
  • there is no D1 football team
  • Overall, I would have to say that choosing to coming to Radford was a great decision, as I cannot see myself anywhere else. :)
