I have studied at three universities before attending USA (Two in Missouri, and one in The Netherlands). All of them were much better. I currently have a BS in biology with a chemistry minor. This is my second semester here. I'm taking undergraduate courses in biomedical sciences while in transition to a professional program. The professors are either great, or completely lost. In a calculus class that I took, 16 out of 24 students failed (scored below 60%) an exam. That reflects poorly on the instructor. He didn't curve the exam grades or offer much additional assistance outside of class. Like most professors at this school, his research was the main focus (lectures and students come second). Additionally, the school spends a great deal of money on its football team. They bribe potential star players by letting them party with the "cool" football players, then promise to get them all rooms at a fancy hotel the night before each game (which they do). I'm glad to know that my tuition is going to some good causes… Football and research. Research is great, and much needed, but if professors always put research first, then there will be nobody to continue that research in the future.
