Embry-Riddle is very dedicated to aviation, but non-pilots and business majors may feel a bit isolated from the rest of the student body. Professors can be a mix of great or horrible. Counselors are also variable. Counselors for flight majors are very accomodating, but business and interdisciplinary studies counselors can be a little unhelpful. The housing accommodations at Embry-Riddle are a bit disappointing. The housing complexes are out-dated with the exception of the on-campus apartment complex which is very well designed. The housing staff is somewhat problematic as it is mainly run by students. Housing is also slow to respond to questions or concerns and may avoid responding to complaints or questions altogether. Students applying for housing for returning semesters should be prepared for housing shortages as the university accepts more students than it may be able to accommodate. Facilities on campus range from high tech to in need of renovation. The engineering buildings and academic complex are very up to date. The buildings in the center of the campus are in dire need of renovation, but the buildings are slowly but surely being brought up to date. The flight line is very nice and the school's fleet of aircraft is impressive. The tuition at Embry-Riddle is quite high, but may be comparable if enrolled in a flight program. The campus is not very accessible. Prescott is nestled up in the Arizona mountains and is treacherous to those who may drive to Prescott through Phoenix. The local airport does offer one airline, but service to the airport changes constantly.
