I am an online student. My main problem with GCU is the amount of "busywork" and the incredibly, ridiculously low academic standards. By far the most frustrating aspect of attending GCU online is the amount of collaborative learning. Every class includes a "team project" of some kind, and every single team I have worked with has been, quite frankly, compromised of the most painfully inept, borderline stupid students imaginable. These students (who are studying to become teachers) have absolutely no idea how to use commas, apostrophes, or put together a proper sentence. It is incredibly frustrating to work together with people like that when trying to compose a paper that represents a large chunk of your grade in a class. I am not trying to sound petty or elitist, but it is driving me crazy. Also beware the unresponsive teachers, plenty of tech issues, and lots of discussion about The Bible and Jesus in courses that have absolutely nothing to do with religious belief. I would highly recommend finding a better school.
