First of all I am a CCPA student. CCPA is part of Roosevelt only in name, the administration is completely different and honestly it is really a completely different school. CCPA is a conservatory, so when you major in music or theatre or whatever, out of your 18 credits, maybe one class is a gen ed. Everything else is completely focused on your major. Its Fantastic. The music and Theatre programs are world renowned. Fucking awesome, despite Roosevelt's tight fists.

The academic programs are okay. I wouldn't recommend attending Roosevelt if you want to major in anything other than Performing Arts.

The facilities are decent. Practice rooms are hard to find, but you can always reserve one if it becomes a real issue. The pianos are often out of tune, at least at the beginning of the year before the piano technician plays with them. But on the other hand they do endure a ridiculous amount of playing time and abuse.

I love CCPA and the faculty. Although the facilities aren't as great as say Columbia's the programs are far superior.

You are really nurtured as a musician here, and good facilities don't make good players. If you have a chance you should come to a performance in order for you to see what the program is really about.
