The Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology

This college has the potential to be good but the coursework is way to easy.The avionics program has really outdated equipment from like the 70s and for the most part you don't really do any type of repair work on equipment.

I would say that pretty much all the professors are friendly and are willing to go above what is required to help you out.Regardless there are some professors who cant teach crap for example there is one who i wont mention who teaches everything from a slide and his homework is basically the exams word for word. He let's you use the HW for the exams so it's pretty much an A you are going to get unless your flat out dumb. The class size is incredibly small like you probably will not have any course with more than 16 students. Heck i even had a differential equations course with only 2 students including me.

Overall i would not recommend this school at least not for engineering technology it is way to easy and for the most part there is only really one professor who will really teach you and let you actually repair avionics.

If you plan to work full-time and go to school, it's pretty flexible. Most professors have industry experience and are willing to help you out. The school has several connections with the aviation industry and may lead to a rewarding career. May not be the best school, but it'll get the job done. The financial aid folks need better customer service training and knowledge of products. The school has the potential to be something better. I would recommend they go green (being a small campus) and set the example. Flying program is horrible....no airplanes to fly. They should establish some sort of partnership with an FBO or flying school. I would recommend students do their research, consider that the school is not recognize outside of the New York area and is a commuter school (no much going on besides classes). Finally, consider going to a community college and transferring to save money (Vaughn College as it's called now can get expensive) and find work in the airport (LGA right across the street) to establish a resume.

The school is now know as Vaughn College Of Aeronautics & Technology. the best part is atmosphere here. Its been rated as one of the best colleges in NY..its good esp for AMP students. the staff is quite friendly..the financial aid staff is a little mess up though.but manageable..the industry connection is good
