Marietta College

First off this school has amazing academics! They are serious. The Engineering Department is great! The chair Dr. Bob Chase is an amazing person! Everything seems amazing doesn't it? Well, the sad story is the city of Marietta and its people. If you are not white, this place is not where you want to live. It?s hard! There is no diversity what so ever around, although I know they are working super hard on it. For any international students who are not Saudis or Chinese it's a struggle, and even for them it's hard but they are the majority to the have large crowds to hang out with. You get really lonely around here. So now, does the social life outweigh the academics? Honestly yes. You have to really want to graduate from Marietta College to stay here, plus it's still 40grand a lot of money compared to other schools. It?s just hard for internationals who are not the above nationalities. However, I will not tell you not to come here because it is after all an excellent school, very pretty too! I know guys from here with 100,000$ plus starting salaries from the petro. Engineering program. As for me, I am still deciding whether to stay or leave. But I think I will head over to Canada, I hear they are lots of people like me there. You are probably thinking I am in it for the fun. Not at all I workhard and I do have a good gpa, it's just that when you intend on staying somewhere for 4yrs, you really have to get a life and this city does not offer me one!
