The place is the furthest thing from Reality. Students are forced to live on campus in a setting that DOES NOT prepare them for life after "Winooski Park." If you're a student who is vocal about living off campus, prepare to be an outcast and recognize you will receive a negative reputation from the babies that think the campus is God's Gift to Earth.

If you're a student who is vocal about living off campus, prepare to be an outcast and recognize you will receive a negative reputation from the babies that think the campus is God's Gift to Earth.
The place doesn't want to talk about what life is really like after college now-a-days. Tuition is raised every year while wages are going down. It's a broken system simply for the Professors and Pretentious Staff Members to fuel their bubble lifestyles off the debt of young men and women.
The school talks only about Women's Issues in classes because it's Politically Correct while there are more young males struggling post college in the job market.
Next-to-Every student there is from Suburban Boston. They're the classic Boston A-holes that wouldn't ever dream of leaving the Boston Area. I would HIGHLY recommend student to look at UVM over SMC. While I was at SMC, I fought hard to get off campus. I was one of the few that won. I had the opportunity to live with UVM students and the experience was refreshing. UVM students are open minded and better prepared for the "Real World." They're not close minded like the Catholic, Suburban Pricks at Saint Michael's.

“I'm a junior at St.Quite BrightPhilosophy
I'm a junior at St. Mike's right now and in the past 2 and a half years I've grown more than I ever expected I would. I kinda just knew when I stepped on campus for a tour that I was going to end up here and lo and behold, I did! And I couldn't be happier. I have great friends, great classes and relationships with awesome professors. It may not always be perfect, but for me it's a perfect enough fit that I would wholeheartedly recommend it to others.

Go to Saint Michael's College if:
1) you are a rich kid who will never have to work in life. At SMC you will not learn how to work (out of all the four years I spent there maybe 5 classes at SMC taught me something I can actually use to make a living).

2)The English as a Second Language program was quite good, at least it was b4 9/11.
The Undergraduate program is quite superficial, it is only an extension of high school.
3)It is one expansive country club with booze and drugs. If you enjoy binge drinking and getting high off of illegal substances this is the place for you. At SMC you will find lots of both right on campus.
4) Looking to just get a degree for doing absolutely nothing (besides paying for it; and for having to attend these ENDLESS lectures, just ENDLESS lectures).
Who the hell learns like that? No practical experience, "hand on" nothing besides 150$ textbooks.
Labs? What? What is that? They had a media lab which they closed to make room for another lecture hall.

Financial Aid at SMC
Be careful what you sign at the Financial Aid Office. Financial aid people are so friendly when giving you a loan it seems so easy. Go in there sign, and you are in school.
Later on they are just like car repossession people when then want to get paid they will make threats just as a 'good' repo-man person does.

The Reality of going to Saint Michael's College, in Colchester Vermont is:
I learn more by watching Television at my house then I ever did learn at this College. The social experience IS GREAT, but is it worth 70K dollars? They provable charge that much per year now? I don't know.
Being young is hard some times because we don't know what you want to do or learn. Please do yourself a favor go to a school where you can learn things that are important to you but that are practical to the world and to your life. Such as engineering, math, computer skills, cutting metal, whatever.SMC is an ABSOLUTE PLATONIC way of life; where one should experience life in the ideal world of imaginary existence. The physical world is to dirty for them. Labs gotta be cleaned and excite the imagination too much. No, no, no, that's not good for a puritan.
