Learn specific job related skills while in college or HS.

You are of little value to any organization if you are limited in filling the needs of a company. Learn to speak one or more foreign languages, computer or technical services, software services, musical, or medical skills. Too many graduates are nice people with a desire to learn and make money, but have nothing of value that they can add to an organization right out of school. They are often thrown into some mundane position and set up to learn on their own, or fail. Also, be able to communicate with others well. Learn how to write emails, letters and documents properly. I spend too much time correcting letters and messages that are poorly constructed.
