The faculty here greatly respects everyone as an academic individual, though not as much as a person (especially when it comes to things like activism). The students can be cold and self-absorbed but most everyone finds their niche. Overall, it is a great place. However, be warned, Yalies live in a bubble; many don't really have grounded concepts of what the real world is, especially considering how pampered the university keeps everyone here (it has an incredible amount of money!). This (lack of a concept of the real world) can make for arrogant, flighty students who often don't consider anyone other than themselves and their little worlds of perfection. |
