I'm pleased with Richmond. I'm in my second of three years. The curriculum is solid - I'm pleased with what I'm learning. They school is really in a jam, though, as it's at a stage where it's moving from marginally bright students to entirely brilliant students. So in some classes, you'll "carry the class." I didn't want that to happen in college…too much like high school…but I can deal with it. Students are obsessed with aesthetics - these are pretty people, no two ways about it, with a pretty campus to match. The university is trying to "improve itself," which is really just a kinder, gentler way of saying "gain recognition." I'm pleased with that - it's good for my degree. Some people who are more liberal…the "I want to make the world safe for puppies" type…are going to find this place stifiling. It's very pragmatic - work hard, earn money, support the system, etc. But if that's your thing (that's my thing), this is the place. |
