I like the ASU college of engineering and computer science because it doesn't have that Ivy League mentality floating around. The students are friendly, even though they are a little introverted. The CSE department is 70% international students, and so there isn't that "fake" arrogance or vanity that plagues much of the rest of ASU. There are not only a lot of internationals (I am from Australia) attending the college, but also a lot of age groups, which makes for a very interesting experience indeed. I think the philosophy with the students at the department is, if you like what you are studying, most likely your social life will revolve around those people that you share classes with, because the CSE department at ASU is getting harder and harder to get into. My best friends here are the people that help me survive through my classes (especially the microprocessor programming classes, ye gods). I didn't come to ASU to party, so I don't know anything about life outside of the CSE department. |
