As a recent grad of Tech, I have realized that my horrible time at MaTech was well spent. I hated that school and everything it stood for while I was going there. I wanted nothing but to leave. But, seeing other graduates from other schools I have learned what Tech really did to/for me.

Tech is a school where you have to stand on your own two feet to graduate. They dont coddle you, baby you along, and give you a diploma at the end. What they do is make you work for it, everything. You can have a social life, if you actually get off your butt and work for it. You can do anything if you get off your butt and work for it. I am in law school now and see the laziness that has worked itself into the lives of lessor schools. These students expect things to be handed to them in their lap. They dont want to sacrifice anything. The first year of law school is a joke, not because I am smart (because I am an average Tech person), but because I am doing the things that I had to do at Tech to survive.

That's what it really boils down to. When recruiters come looking for Tech students above almost every other engineering school, they realize that you have a higher level of engineering knowledge compared to everyone else, and, you worked your butt of getting there. They know that there will be no trial by fire with you because you have already been in the fire.

The rewards you get are much greater than the pain you feel while at Tech. I still have nightmares about the school, but I have gotten calls from law firms while the other engineers in my class havent.
