I believe that the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign truly helped me to figure out who I really am. There are so many ways to get involved and opportunities for research with faculty that everyone can find their passion.

What I wish I knew then: Never hesitate to ask an administrator a question. Unless you memorize the whole catalog, you will miss a rule or policy that could help you.

My recommendation for HS students: Compare your schools, look at curriculum, deal with finances second. You need to pick a school that is right for you, not be guided by price tags and scholarships. It will make all the difference. It did for me.
