Syracuse is good because it offers many of the things that make up a good high school experience, thus making the transition from high school to college relativly easy. It is important to really know how cold it is here. That is something to really know. How ever cold you think it is going to be, subtract about 10 degrees and that is how cold it really is. Do not be fooled by the happy students building snowmen in the viewbooks! Also make note that the city of Syracuse is actually horrible, especially so if you come from even a remotely large city. Crime is everywhere, along with homeless people. The dorms vary from alright to good and you really have no way of getting to choose especially as a freshman since the school doesn't offer any sort of a roommate match-up program. Lastly, a note on the students… At times it feels like intelligence is as endangered as the Chinese Panda. You have to search to find a conversation that contains more meaning and content than Thurday night's bar plans or Sunday's football game. But generally speaking the students are nice. |
