Drew University can be summed up with one word—individualistic. At Drew, you can be anything you want to be, but you have to be self-motivated. Drew is an extremely tolerant place that has a wide variety of students (hippies, gays, feminists, jocks, liberals, conservatives, etc.). The school offers its students incredible opportunities that are not generally available elsewhere, and inspires its students to go above and beyond the norm. However, while the school promotes greatness, nobody going to hand it to you.

The same is true for being a Drew alum. If you're looking for a college that will get you a high-paying corporate job upon graduation, this is not the school for you. However, if you're looking for a school that gives its students the knowledge and the vision to eventually become leaders in their fields, then consider Drew. Drew graduates have a long legacy serving the public—a disproportionate number hold high-ranking positions in government and non-profit organizations.

I graduated three years ago, and I am now a medicinal chemist. I design medical devices which allow people to live longer and more fulfilling lives. I was able to get this job, not because I know more chemistry than other people (I don't!), but because Drew taught be to think outside the box, and inspired me to believe that I could accomplish anything if I made the effort. I strongly recommend this school for any person who is independent-minded, and is willing to take advantage of the unique opportunities that Drew offers.
