Furman is a great place to be. I would not be anywhere else. The Education department here is fantastic. The professors will work with you when there is confusion and they are readily available. This department also offers a 5 year program in which you may obtain your master's degree. I will leave Furman with a masters and one year of teaching experience. I will be well prepared to be a quality educator. The course work at Furman is tough, but totally doable. Study abroad programs are open to all majors and can open up a whole new experience while you get credit for college courses. Campus organizations are available to fill up your time when you aren't studying, for example, Collegiate Eduation Service Corp is a great place to plug into if you would like to volunteer in the Greenville community. Furman University's Student Activity Board (FUSAB) provides lots of entertaining musical guests, speakers, and events (free movies) for the entire campus. The campus is beautiful (Campus tours are great, you should go on one!). The city of Greenville is not a huge city but it has much to offer in ways of entertainment and dining out. The Bi-Lo Center and the Peace Center are within 15 minutes or so. My friends and I have been to several concerts while in our 1 and a half years here. Overall, I love Furman! |
