However, after reading the responses of the students, I must give my opinion. As a freshman at NYU I came in scared. NYU is a scary school. It forces you to grow up, be a real person. NYU is just as good or as bad as you want it to be. It offers unparralleled education opportunities but also refuses to pick every student out of the cracks into which they have allowed themselves to fall. Yes, NYU is money hungry. Yes, MAP is a pain in everyone's ass. However, NYU is an opportunity, the pain in the ass classes make you learn whereas your counterparts in state schools and party school are taking english 101. This school is not for the weak. It is for people who want to make something of themselves and are willing to fight for it, not have it handed to them… that not only includes your diploma and grades, but also your friends, social life, quality of education, and growth in your personality. NYU is hard…if you want to pave your own way its worth it. |
