Statistical Analyzer:

NYU allows you to live in New York City. Once you find your way around, you realize it's a pretty good deal. The business school kids are generally considered jerks, but I would say otherwise. Stern is incredibly competetive, which means not everybody is going to be your friend. On the whole, the kids are friendly and quite diverse. Living in the city will entertain you, everybody works their schedules so they don't have class on Friday, classes are not easy, but it has been a good experience so far. As for the social life, there is a collection of bars/clubs within short walking distance from the "campus" around Washington Square Park. I'm only a freshman, so I don't know a lot about the other dorms… but Weinstein, the all freshmen dorm, is almost like a prison. The food is not very good, the rooms are pretty small, it's pretty old, there's only carpet in the halls, and there is a zero tolerance policy towards drugs and alcohol in the dorm. Then again, you have the positives to deal with: it's all freshmen, VERY close to classes (5 min walk), and there are good sandwiches you can get around the corner at Faye's.
