Transferring to NU was the best thing I ever did - the poli sci professors I had were top notch and set me up for a great career down the line. The co-op program game me a solid resume by the time I graduated, helped me pay for school, and through it I learned (before getting 50k+ in debt) that law school was not for me. I worked somewhat hard in the honors program and did lots of independent studies with professors - this experience, co-op experience & recommendations got me into Ivy League for grad school. Like others have said - no hand holding here, but GREAT opportunities. And the campus ROCKS now (it was pretty gloomy when I was there)! If you are thinking about NU, go for a visit & see if you can sit down with professors (during office hours) who are currently teaching classes you think you'd like to take - also talk to random students in the Ell student center to see what they think.
