I got to say, I don't have much to add about Berkeley because the comments above pretty much summarize Berkeley accurately. The comments about the girls being so bad is sort of exaggerated…I'd like to say they aren't THAT bad. In fact, there are a lot of cute ones. If you're not into the party scene, Berkeley can get sort of boring at times, but that has a lot to do with not having a car as a freshman. SF is nearby and there is plenty to do there. If you're thinking of going to Berkeley, do it. You won't regret it. I have yet to meet someone I don't like at Berkeley, and I'm a pretty conservative person. I truly get the sense that Berkeley people are above the arrogance and self-consciousness associated with private university kids…just about everyone seems laid back and eager to have fun and make thing enjoyable for others while getting a good education at the same time. |
