The work is hard. You have to manage your classes for your major along with all the core courses. At the end of the week I'm drained. I live in Brooklyn but I was living at NYU to get the "real college experience." Unfortunately, that doesn't exist at NYU. The kids are spoiled pampered rich kids from the "burbs." They are arrogant and I moved back home this second semester because living with them and their want-to-be hippy attitudes really made me sick to my stomach. All things considered though, I love my program. I love my advisor. I find that the teachers really care about their students and would do anything to help you when you're overwhelmed or in a bind. My dad developed cancer this year and I am carrying 18 credits a semester. The teachers helped me in everyway possible. If I had it all to do over again I'd say that it would be a tough call, because like any college there are pros and cons. While the acedemics are hard (and thats not a bad thing) and the students shallow - the teachers and my program (nursing) are great. I only wish I would have taken the full scholarship offers and alliviated the burden of the financial commitment NYU on to them. Good Luck |
