Liberty University offered me a solid biblical worldview that has helped me navigate both the working world and the world of parenting (5 children). We are in our 11th year of home schooling, and my English degree was of particular value in this endeavor. I recommend that HS students consider taking time off to work/travel/apprentice after graduation unless they are sure of their area of interest. I took four years off before college and entered with good motivation and a good work ethic. I also heartily recommend going to a Christian college/university. The campus environment helps rather than hinders the pursuit of knowledge.
