Overall, I've had a good experience at Temple. As an incoming freshman from out-of-state, I remember the discomfort of not knowing people from home while moving into my freshmen dorm. But that quickly subsided- the Honors floor made it so a bunch of smart, gifted kids were together on a floor- and it made sense because there tended to be people in the same classes. We helped one another out, and got to know each other better than most floors had. My advice, if you're accepted into the honors program, take it- it looks good anyway and you'll meet some zany but loveable characters. Aside from this, Temple is good at getting interesting events on campus, though these don't compare to some of the surrounding universities' events. They could do a lot more work on making the University feel more social and community-like. A lot of people, if they aren't involved in organizations or athletics, feel disassociated with the campus. |
