The joint program with Juilliard that is so highly touted in Columbia's brochure is non-existent. Not even the Dean of the school has been able to explain why Columbia advertises this program, but fails to deliver the goods. There is little applied music at Columbia, and no feeling of unity amongst those who choose music as a major. Though the city has much to offer artisticly, New York is filthy, overpriced, rude and crowded. A major disappointment compared to other large cities that offer similar opportunities. As with many in the music department, I will be transferring out A.S.A.P. |
