Statistical Analyzer:

Tulane is a fantastic school; professors are first rate. Students are either rich and average or poor and really smart. The former come to New Orleans to party and mostly major in business—if they don't flunk out after first semester—so they don't generally reduce the quality of the more challenging classes.

I got a quality education at Tulane and everyone I know who did well has gotten into first-rate graduate programs. In fact, I am grateful for having picked Tulane instead of a more "competitive" school, because I think it's made it easier for me to get into my choice graduate programs.

Tulane is the kind of school where you either sink or swim; if you get bogged down in the social scene, you may graduate, but your inattention to studies will show. If you can get Summa Cum Laude at a tough school in New Orleans, a graduate school reviewer is going to toss your application into the "Welcome" pile.

Another bonus: Tulane is on its way back up in rankings. Expect to see it in the low 30's to high 20's in the next few years. (Tulane used to be 11th nationally).
