I have only been attending ACU for one year, but I am so thankful that I do attend. One thing that stands out to me is that the professors are completely accessible and concerned about you. Last semester, I was invited to each one of my professor's homes at least once. I have yet to have a class where the professor tries to "brainwash" the students—discussions are encouraged to get us to think. As for the downsides, Abilene is a bit on the boring side. Also, people complain about the closed-mindedness of administration, but I just don't see it. There are one or two unnecessary rules (no co-ed swimming, etc.), but most are reasonable and bearable at the very least. However, I feel that the sense of community at ACU more than makes up for any short-comings. I highly recommend ACU to anyone who wants to grow spiritually as well as academically.
