Ok. I really wanted to live in DC, and after two years, I can say that I still love Washington. You do need an ID to go out but you have to look for places. Going to Riverside (the liquor store by the freshman dorm w/ MPD cops as clerks) isn't smart. I am not a politically minded person, but I liked going to Dupont, the Mall and Georgetown. Most of my classes were fine, most of my profs. were fine- tho my TA's weren't good. Yes. classes are big and you can't get into most on the first try, but I've gotten into most of the classes I wanted by checking online during the first week. Yes, the school is big and impersonal, but if you want warm and fuzzy go to a hippie school. Some of my friends love the school and wouldn't go anywhere else even though they have to take out loans to do so.

They say 'it's not where you are, but who you're with'- this is true and it's been proven to me over these two years. There are exceptions, but not many, but the people here are awful. The girls are all in their Seven's, tiny coach bags and the the silver heart necklace from Tiffany's. I've been around some stuck up people, but damn. The guys are better, but not by a whole lot. It's rediculous.

GW is very hit or miss. I would suggest to any prospective student to go and wait in line at J street, not with your parents, at lunch time monday-thurs (no one has class fri.) and listen to the students. If how they look, act, talk doesn't bother you and you feel right at home, then I'm sure you'll love it. You will meet more people who are from the rich sections of New Jersey, Conn. and New York then you ever thought possible. (Lots and lots of Long Island and Westchester- not many from the bourghs)
I am so very fourtunate as to not have had to take out loans to attend this school. But it was too expensive in my mind. So after having brought my grades up to something respectable, I am transferring to a state university in the fall.
