You can smell pot in the streets, the streets haven't been paved in years. Everyone cares so much about their own achievements and their resume. But in fact, so many people don't matter on this campus. If you're looking for social life here, it is very minimal besides all the same groups smoking and drinking their lives away. Normal stores (not markets) close at around 6pm, leaving the students in their homes on weekdays. As for classes, so many of them are insignificantly boring. On a side note, the city operation of berkeley is very poor. Berkeley could be one of the worst places for drivers with all the one-way streets, many stop signs, unpredictable roadblocks, up and down hills, and the lack of parking for any sort of event. There is actually three respectable things about UC Berkeley, and they are the libraries, faculty, and the Campanile (clock tower). One advice too all of you students looking to attend berkeley, is to STAY AWAY. A pessimestic environment will turn you into a pessimist. |
