Wayyyyy too many snooty sorority girls. Some teachers are amazing and I am so pleased about them. Other teachers are terrible, rude and way too difficult for such a small college. Sometimes UTC feels like Harvard. I really think the Spanish department is one of the most difficult in the school; we have more work and assignments than any other major I talk to. Plus I am also a History major and Spanish is more difficult. Because UTC can't affoad to hire more teachers they just cut classes that are essential and required for your major and only offer them once every 4 semesters. So basically I had to graduate a whole two semesters later just because I was waiting around for a class. I do not recommend the Spanish department to anyone. The History department is much more helpful and better organized with more professors. I would recommend it. UTC itself does not care about individual students. They give parking tickets to everyone for stupid reasons. They take way too long to process things like petitions. The offices never call you back. I only went to this school because I am poor and it would be the cheapest way to go. I could not get a scholarship there even though I had a 3.6 GPA from high school and a 4.0 from junior college. As long as you are white you can't get a scholarship to UTC. None of my 4.0 white friends could get one. Seems unfair. |
